About

"Hajareen" is a Jordanian non-profit organization officially established in 2024, after beginning as a community initiative in 2018. It relies on football as a primary tool for development and aims to provide safe playing spaces for children and youth, empowering them with the tools and skills necessary to reach their full potential and build a community of young leaders within their societies.

Our Mission

To be the leading force in supporting sports development in the Middle East by 2030.

Our Vision

Shaping a generation of children and youth who thrive in life through the power of sports.

Our Ambition

Empowering 1 million girls and children to participate in sports programs that promote education and health by 2030.

Why the name "Hajareen" ?

The name "Hajareen" was chosen because it embodies the childhood memories of the founder, Anas, who played football in underserved areas using two stones as goalposts. These stones were not just simple tools but a symbol of creativity and resilience in the face of challenges.

Since 2018, we have launched the 'Hajareen' initiative to provide safe and supportive play spaces for children and youth in underserved communities. These communities face significant challenges, with high unemployment rates fueling frustration among our youth. We are committed to fostering the development of children and youth, equipping them with essential skills, and actively working on innovative solutions to address these challenges.

Our Story

In a small village in northern Jordan, life moved quietly, with the laughter of children echoing as they ran through narrow alleys, chasing simple dreams. It was there that a great idea was born in the heart of a young man named Anas, who saw every narrow street as a potential playground and every scattered stone as a goalpost for achieving dreams. His dreams weren’t fleeting thoughts; his heart raced whenever he touched a football, imagining himself playing on a green field surrounded by cheers and excitement.

But reality was quite different. Playgrounds were out of reach for the children, and sports resources were scarce, as if iron gates had locked away his dreams. There was no one to guide him or offer a helping hand to support this passion that lived within him. Yet, his enthusiasm never waned. He decided to take another path for the time being; he studied engineering, trying to satisfy the demands of his reality, but his heart remained tethered to football, longing for that unique feeling that made him feel alive.

Years passed, and Anas gained knowledge and experience, but he never forgot the small dream he carried — a dream as vast as the sky. After a long educational journey, he returned to his village to see the same childhood scenes repeating: children running in narrow streets, joy filling their faces and hearts, but on unprepared grounds that increased their risk of injury, as if time had stood still. Playing in the street was the only option because designated play areas were either absent or out of reach.

At that moment, Anas realized that the dream he had carried for years needed to come true — not just for him, but for those children who reminded him of himself. He wondered: “Why should children keep playing in the streets, exposed to danger? Why not provide them with a safe place to unleash their energy?”

This is how the “Hajareen” initiative was born, under the slogan “From the Street to the Field.” The goal wasn’t just to provide places to play, but to build safe and well-equipped fields where children could play football without the dangers of the streets. Anas wanted to give them the opportunity he never had and create an environment that protected them and nurtured their passion for the game.

Anas began his journey with determination, collaborating with various public and private entities and supported by volunteers who shared his vision. He managed to provide safe fields equipped with standards that ensure the safety of children and encourage them to play and develop. Every time he saw a child playing freely on a safe field, he felt a part of his dream come true.

The initiative faced many challenges — from funding difficulties to finding suitable spaces — but belief in the idea was stronger than all obstacles. Day by day, “Hajareen” became a symbol of hope, and the safe fields became a bridge for children to cross toward their dreams.

Anas’s story isn’t just about fulfilling a personal dream; it is a message that every child deserves a safe space to play, and that small dreams born from the heart can blossom and change many lives. Through “Hajareen” and a big dream, Anas brought joy back to the hearts of children and proved that passion and determination can create real change.

✨⚽ Because every child deserves a safe playground... and every dream deserves a chance!
